a film made by Maria Ploskow
with a turntable-sound-performances by the godmothers part II
casa nostra production 2002

Heads are running across the screen hunted by abstract shapes. Beamers are spitting out groups of people, shoes are dancing by themselves and turntables swirling around ending up in a love affair. Maria Ploskow created 20 minutes of moving pictures by animating her computer generated drawings and conected them to a never ending story. The godmothers part II developed a live-sound-performances on 4 turntables and effect gear to the short-film. The turntables are used as instrument. With various technical skills they created sounds and noises to underline the movements in the film and give the single parts and overall importance and the other way round. Sentite!

In 1999 the godmothers made their first short-film which was created together with the casa nostra production team, their artists and musicians collective. They don’t like to talk too much about their past and their family business. Probably the most about their activities nowadays is reveiled in their shortfilm called "La storia di giradischi a Madame Hu" concerning turntable deals and family affairs. In connection with the film the godmothers develloped a film-noise-performance: four different soundtracks performed live on four turntables.
