Since 1997 Donna Neda and Donna Maya have had DJ residencies in various clubs, have toured in Germany, Swiss and Austria and played together with Kemistry&Storm, Rob Playford, Dom, JMJ, Sahin, Sutekh, DJ Dick and DJ Grand. Last year they participated on the first DnB battle and recently they won the Levi’s DJ Talent Contest in Berlin. While Donna Maya is specialised in Drum ’n Bass, Donna Neda prefers to spin Minimal House. Their sound has in common deep and heavy bass lines which make the different styles melt together. They call it Bass-Attack-Music. Since 1998 the godmothers part II released their own composed music on different record labels in Germany and the USA. Besides rockin’ the dancefloor they have written turntable compositions and sound performances for 4 turntables and effect gear which they wrote down in their self developed score system. Their latest performace is called "Moto Nero". Maria Ploskow created 20 minutes of moving pictures by animating her computer generated drawings and connected them to a never ending story. The godmothers part II developed a live-sound-performances on 4 turntables and effect gear to the short-film. The turntables are used as instruments. With various technical skills, like scratching, dragging and hitting the vinyl, they created sounds and noises to underline the movements in the film and give the single parts an overall meaning and the other way round. Their performances can be seen in various clubs, galleries and museums. You can also listen to their music at Radio FSK (Freies Sender Kombinat Hamburg, 93.0 MHz/101,4 Cabel) where Donna Maya has a regular monthly radio shows called "DJ Cutz". Sentite! |
